REFLECTION

• The single most rewarding experience of the 10 session GNML Online Program for me was learning how to insert different social media platforms on my blogger.

• The single most challenging experience of the 10 session GNML Online Program for me was creating an Elevator Pitch video for YouTube. It really took me a while to figure how I wanted to make my video and the making process took me a long time too but I was glad with my result though.

• Basically, I plan to teach people in my group my new social media skills that we could all use to help spread our good cause. Also, I intend to assist people who might be involved in the use of social media for any kind of positive work like tackling social issues.

Social Media

This is how I plan to use these social media platforms to support my Social Media for Social Change Campaign.

• Blogger: Basically, I will try to post more stories concerning my social media from my google alerts. Then, I will continually share my blog with others for them to read so as to build their interest for my campaign.

• Twitter: I plan to follow more people and groups that have a conection to my social issue. I will continually post tweets as well as updating my followers on latest happenings in my other social media platforms like links to my facebook page and blog. 

• YouTube: With this platform, I will broadcast my social campaign with videos of activities that the group will be undertaking like donations and time spent with street children or needy kids. Also, I will upload different kinds of videos that will be recorded or created for specific purposes that tend to promote the course of my campaign.

• Facebook: I will use Facebook to get more people to support my campaign because I will get to connect to the friends of friends. This will provide me with the opportunity to gather many people to support my good cause through status updates, picture and even video updates.

• Instagram: I will raise support for my campaign basically through picture uploads that will include shots from activities of the group and images that I will find on the internet that "speaks" for my campaign.

• LinkedIn: I will use this platform to get in touch with professional people who might have some experience in the campaign that I am organizing or might have some knowledge to share on the social issue that I am addressing. Also, I will search for and connect to groups that also share a similar cause or have visions as my group.

OUT OF THE COLD

Read the story of these elementary kids who have been collecting clothing since December to aid homeless people in the winter. One lucky person was Keera McMahon, a pregnant, unemployed 19-year-old, whose plan was to borrow a blanket from a friend but chanced upon these kids who allowed her to pick one for herself for free and even extra ones for her unborn child. Also check out the story of this amazing woman, Kimberly Wardell-Croley, who runs Blankets of Love and goes to the old bus bays every Tuesday night for the last six and half years.
